At 34 weeks pregnant nothing fits. Seriously. Nothing. Even your maternity clothes feel too small and all you want to do is wear (XL) yoga pants and giant t-shirts(or is that just me?). However, I do what I can to fight this feeling. While I can't fit into anything at my favorite store (Anthropologie)I still go there to see what little lovelies I can find. As I pack for the hospital I like to include pretty things to make my stay more enjoyable. Hospitals are rough, and when I had Peter, I couldn't believe the difference a few good smelling lotions and soaps could make. I made a few other stops (Blue Mercury & Target) to pick up some other things to make these last few weeks a little more enjoyable. So if you're nearing the end of your pregnancy, in the great words of Tom Haverford "Treat Yo' Self!"
First up! Rosebud Salve. During labor (and after) your lips are so dry! This stuff is amazing and it smells like a rose garden.
Next up... these lovely little hair ties. When I'm pregnant my curly hair goes flat. Not the good flat either. Like if I grew a mullet it would be text book perfect. Anyway.. the jeweled hair ties are perfect for when I throw my hair up in a bun or a pony tail. Nothing like a little sparkle in the delivery room. Lol!
Hand cream! I've never really used hand cream consistently but I have a feeling that this stuff will be a new obsession. Not only does it smell amazing but it also feels great too. Plus the packaging is super cute and I will openly admit that a well packaged/designed product will get me every time. Gah consumerism!
I love MAC and I love Bobbi Brown. My make up drawer is a pretty even split between the two. I needed a new mascara so I picked this one up. I'm already in love with it! Hopefully I'll have some time to apply a little before all my glowing post delivery pictures (yeah right) BUT it will be good for when people come to visit. It's the much needed item for the "pull yourself together!" moment because you feel like you're losing your mind due to sleep deprivation. It's all good mommies...it's all good.
Finally I swing by Target to get the mommy/wallet friendly face lotion. The one on the left is actually a cleansing lotion that dissolves make up. I know that the idea of this product may not seem appealing at all but we've all been there... Those late nights where washing our face is the last thing on our mind. The one on the right is just a day moisturizer. I also have their night cream and that stuff is awesome! They have different products for different skin types too, dry, oily, and somewhere in the middle (that's me!)
No matter what it is that makes you feel special, if that baby is coming soon, don't be afraid to get yourself a little something to make the homestretch a little easier!
