I've got a sleeping Peter in the crib and a sleeping James on my chest. Pretty much sums up this weekend... Don't get me wrong! We had a lovely couple of days but they were busy! Saturday we picked out b-day presents followed by a special b-day lunch for my sister Gabi. She's 15 now! Crazy unbelievable. Then, in the evening it was date night! My parents watched the boys while we went to a gala benefiting Reach Out Women's Center. For some odd reason, I was much more comfortable leaving the boys together. I couldn't imagine taking James with us and leaving Peter with my family. It just seemed weird! Knowing that the brothers were united made going out so much easier. Does any of this make sense? When we came back from our event my mother even said that Peter seemed more at ease with his baby brother around. So cute!
The event was really lovely. Several of the women I work with for Starry Night (regale for Life Teen) helped with this one too. It certainly showed! It was such a successful night. I held back on the silent auction but somehow we still managed to walk away with a framed St. Francis prayer and a set of flannel sheets. Winning? I think so.
We had such a wonderful group of people at our table. The whole night was a lot of fun!
We were so exhausted this morning! We ended up going to a later Mass at the UofA Newman Center. When I was swimming at the UofA, the Newman Center was a nice community for me. I met a lot of wonderful people there. Going there for Mass today brought back a bunch of special memories. Plus, Peter got to play on some grass, which in Arizona, almost never happens haha.
Then we made a quick stop at my favorite coffee place The Raging Sage which is located next to a cute little flower shop. I was worried that there wouldn't be any scones left! However, they had plenty of chocolate chip scones when we got there. It's like they knew I was coming...
