When I was growing up, my mom and dad always talked about "Christmas Magic". Like when they would get us exactly what we wanted or something we never knew we wanted and we'd say "how did you know?". They would always respond with a sly smile and say "Christmas Magic!". Obviously we all knew that they didn't mean they were casting special "Santa Spells" or something haha. We knew it meant that during this time of year, things have a special way of coming together beautifully... Now that I'm an adult I know that Christmas magic means "I almost died trying to get you this present." Haha. Even though I am more aware of the realities of the Christmas season, I still believe in that sparkle that comes with this time of year. Yesterday Peter was watching me make Christmas cookies and that was magical. We went to the zoo lights and Peter was totally captivated by the sights and the fake snow. That's Christmas magic. When my boys fall asleep looking at the tree lights, that's Christmas magic. Wrapping presents late into the the night with my husband, that's Christmas magic. Singing "Hark the Herald Angles Sing" for the first time at church, that's Christmas magic.
Marisa Clare Photography did our Christmas photos this year and I think she did a great job of capturing that magic.
What's your Christmas Magic?
