Krista Bolin (or Ballin as she is so lovingly referred to) is one of my best friends. This Saturday she is getting married and I couldn't be more excited for her. This past weekend I had the pleasure of hosting her bridal shower. It made more sense to do it in Phoenix so that meant on Saturday morning we loaded up the car with glitter and garland and headed up north.
It ended up being a really wonderful day. There was plenty of food, everyone enjoyed the games and of course Krista was glowing. My husband did the invitations for the shower and then helped me make signs to match the invites. We did signs for the gifts, prizes, favors, and mimosa bar. We also did a few signs with some meaningful quotes to the bride and groom. I purchased two garlands from Studio Mucci with colors that matched the invites. Then much to the horror of my husband, I covered the bases of some champagne glasses with gold glitter.
Funny thing glitter. I made sure to isolate my work space yet somehow I managed to get it EVERYWHERE. The boys were in completely different rooms napping and when they woke up IT WAS ON THEM TOO. Now I'm sure my husband would be overjoyed if I swore off glitter but no such luck. I'll just do it outside next time.
Finally I decided to paint mason jars with my favorite gold spray paint. I wanted to add black stripes but that ended up a big bust. Then I decided to do dots in black and green paint. At the shower I filled the jars with fresh flowers. I contemplated using fake flowers but in the end I decided to go with fresh because they're just so much more inviting and personal. Aren't you glad you know of my internal struggle about the flowers? Now you can sleep tonight.
Here are some pictures from the shower and all my favorite little details.
For the favors I wrapped up little bouquets of flowers. I used brown craft paper and bakers string. On the back of each bouquet I took a wrote "K+B 6-28-14" (Krista and Ben) with a white scrapbook marker.
Now we are just a few days away from the wedding! Can't wait to see the beautiful bride marry the man of her dreams!
