When I was in kindergarden we were living here in Tucson while my Dad went to the UofA medical school. We lived in a small house with a tiny backyard. Good thing you don't need a lot of space to make memories! I have so many good memories from that sweet time as a five year old. Everyday when I came out of kindergarden, my brother Thomas was always ready to greet me. He would run up to me as fast as he could and nearly tackle me to the ground. We would go for long walks in our neighborhood and visit the nearby park often. On the weekends we would enjoy the local eats and then kick the soccer ball around the UofA campus.
One of those places we liked to eat at was Blue Willow restaurant. You can imagine my delight when we returned to Tucson (10 years later) to find that Blue Willow was still around. I continued to make memories at Blue Willow through out college as my team mates and I would go there for breakfast after long (long) Saturday practices. Then the summer I was pregnant with Peter, my friend Kate was working right next to Blue Willow. I would go to visit her and then we'd walk over there for iced coffee and bacon chocolate chip cookies.
Yes. Bacon chocolate chip cookies. Then when I was in the hospital after having Peter she brought be one of those cookies. The cookie of champions.
I still love going to Blue Willow whenever I get that chance. Recently my friend Emma and I met there for breakfast and I decided to take a few pictures to share on the blog.
Basically everything on the menu is delicious but my favorite is their chorizo plate. The staff is kid friendly and didn't mind at all when most of Peter and James' food ended up on the floor. They keep your coffee cups full and your water glasses even fuller (I mean it's Arizona... they have to). They also have both inside and outside seating. Personally, I love siting outside. It still gets a little warm but they are pretty well shaded and they run a few giant fans. They also have an adorable little gift shop attached to the restaurant. They have the most random things but I'd be lying if I said that I'd never found any Christmas presents there...
James loves bacon. As he should.
Sadly there were no bacon chocolate chip cookies when we were there.
But it's ok because they had an assortment of other delicious treats.
See? The most random stuff ever. I love it.
Yes those are socks right next to the greeting cards.
I just wanted a nice little picture with my boys... However James was clearly not having it and Peter wanted to play in the parking lot... so yeah. I fee like this picture accurately portrays most days with my boys haha.
So if you're in Tucson you should totally give Blue Willow a try!
