Mom Life

Making Room For More....

I know it's a few days late but I decided to put up my goals/resolutions and thoughts on the upcoming year. While I like to focus on living in the moment, I also really like to plan and stay organized. Shocking. I've never posted that before.

I usually don't do "resolutions" because I feel that they're just to easily broken. I always do much better with goals. Goals allow me to be patient with myself and understand that sometimes making a change takes time. I'm not going to wake up one morning and make big changes in myself or in my life. It's a piece by piece, little by little process. I also sometimes end up taking steps backwards. Goals allow me to keep going forward where as a broken resolution is just too easy to quit.

So with that said.

Things I'd like to work on in 2015...

Andrew and I have jumped on the Dave Ramsey train. We're only a couple months in but I can already see the change it is going to make in our lives. Nothing will change overnight and it's going to take a lot of sacrifice. I mean basically it's a shopaholic nightmare. BUT I want us to be in a better place financially and I'm more than willing to make some major changes.

I absolutely love working for Mother of Divine Grace. This year I took on a smaller load of students because of Aria's upcoming birth. So now I'm looking forward to adding to my student list next school year and just getting better at being a Teaching Assistant!

Not sure how the training is going to work but I definitely want to start running some more road races. I did one right before I got pregnant with Aria. I ran slow as balls but it felt so good to run/compete again! So yes, more racing.

This is pretty much a given but I want to keep improving this little blog. I really really do love blogging and I'm always trying to make it better. So I'm sketching out new ideas and more content as well and working on my photography.

Being a mom of three under three is already proving to be hard but I want to make sure I am really present to them. Read more, sing more, play more and dance more...All that fun stuff!

Andrew is a wonderful husband and he does so much for me and the kids. This year I want to go on more dates with him! I love our date nights! Doesn't have to be anything fancy or expensive (especially on our new budget) just more quality time with the one my heart loves.

There are some big dreams that I hold close to my heart. These dreams are in their infancy so I can't say much now... But in 2015 I just want to make sure that I don't forget them... It might be a little while before I make any big move towards making these dream a reality but I just want to be ready for when that time comes. Vague much?! I know I know... But let's just say I'm filling up journals with big ideas and plans.

With that ^^ said. I want to make sure I have more time to be creative. More time unplugged. Read more books (even if it's just a few paragraphs before I pass out in bed each night). I want to make more time for inspiration!

Simplify all our stuff. I already did a lot of nesting but I still think there are some things to get rid of. I mean yesterday I went through my clothes yet again and found stuff to give away. I know Andrew always appreciates when I trim my side of the closet.

I started reading Make It Happen by Lara Casey and it's given me so much to think about. I want to live with purpose not perfection and I want to focus on faith not fear... I'm putting together little cards with my goals on them and these are definitely being written down. I think another goal is to make sure I actually finish this book!

There you have it! Here's to a wonderful 2015!
