Lipstick Of The Week//Princess and the Peony

It's Friday!! Which means it is time for another "Lipstick of the Week". I have loved seeing all the link ups! Keep them coming! It's really wonderful to see you all coming together and showing off your favorite lip color. I'm adding to my wish list for sure!

Lipstick of the week ~ Barista Mommy

This week I have an amazing find for just $7! This is a "lip butter" (oh ok) by Flower which is Drew Barrymore's  line of cosmetics for Walmart. So there you go! You can find this color and all her stuff at Walmart. Yay! This lip butter (Princess and the Peony) goes on very smooth and feels very much like chap stick. This is a really sheer pink so you have to apply quite a bit to see the actual color. It's a great "every day" shade. If you're out and about this color is perfect. Or if you just need a little pick me up but don't feel like going all Joker on your kids with a bright red, this is your color.

Lipstick of the Week!

As you can see, just a little bit of color and a little bit of shine. The wear isn't terribly long lasting. But it's light enough of that touching it up is really easy. This is really a great find if you're looking for just a touch of color but nothing too crazy. The tube is a little oddly shaped so there's that. However, not a deal breaker. Still a good lip product for the price. PLUS they are completely made in the USA and don't do ANY animal testing. So if that's something your passionate about then this is your JAM. SO MANY CAPS.

Ok all done. Link up and play along here or on Instagram (or both!) #bmlotw

Lipstick Of The Week//YSL

Ok I know it isn't Friday but it has been a couple weeks since my last LOTW so I wanted to get one up! Especially this one! My lovely friend Danielle was kind enough to help me for this special feature. This week's lipstick is definitely a little splurge. It's a "lip shine" (again, what just happened to lipstick?!) from Yves St. Laurent. I know FANCY PANTS ALERT. When I was buying it I was like "I feel like I can't buy this...I don't even own a yacht!" However, even though this lip shine is a bit of a luxury it is so worth it. I seriously want all the colors. But until I can afford a yacht, I probably won't be owning all the colors any time soon.

This lip shine goes on so smooth. It reminds me of a smackers chap stick, you know from when you were a kid? It even smells like them! It's not sticky at all and it stays on really well. So when I found out my friend Danielle also had a lip shine but in a different color, I knew that we had to join up for a lipstick of the week post! Aria made a little cameo this time too.

Danielle is wearing Fuchsia in Rage. It looks super purple but I was so surprised when Danielle put it on! It comes out as this delightful pinky/purple. A fun yet classy color. Just like Danielle!

Now I'm wearing Fuchsia in Excess. The fact that Danielle and I picked two different shades a fuchsia pretty much sums up our friendship.

I really can't recommend this lipstick enough. It's definitely in my top five. I've really surprised myself by how often I reach for it. When I got married I had a "wedding perfume", if I could go back, this would be my  "wedding lipstick" for sure. So if you're looking to invest in a lip color this is the one!

Lipstick Of The Week//Lilly Pulitzer

Back in April the Lilly Pulitzer line for Target hit the shops and it was absolute chaos. People camped outside the store, things were sold out in minutes, and the website kept crashing. It was awful because so many people just scooped up whatever they could in order to resell it for a higher price. As Mindy Lahiri would say " That's rude." Anyway, thanks to a sweet friend who loves Lilly like I do, she told me about a Target in town that still had some goodies... Sure enough I was able to grab a few things including some Lilly lip colors by L'Oreal. I fell in love with my choices but I was super disappointed that I couldn't share them as one of my LOTW features. Because you know, they're gone and all.

But guess what?! I was wrong. While browsing the cosmetic aisle at Target I saw them! L'Oreal carries all the Lilly colors! They just don't have the beachy pattern on the lid.

Today you get a triple feature! Three colors all in one post and the best part is that you can still find all three at any store that sells L'Oreal. Over all this gloss is fairly light as well as long lasting. It smells really good and doesn't leave your lips feeling "sticky". It glides on smoothly and leaves a subtle shine. No sparkle. That's important.

First up...Rose Melody

Rose Melody

This color is soft and sweet. It's perfect for your day to day. It's the kind of color you put on before heading out the door to meet up with a friend for coffee or to the weekend farmers market.

Don't worry. I get perkier as the post goes on.... The coffee hadn't kicked in yet.

Next up...Fuchsia Orchestra!

Fuchsia Orchestra

This one is a bright pop of pink. This is a great color for a date night or fun evening out with friends.

Lipstick Of The Week

See? The coffee is kicking in.

Finally...Orange Tempo!

Orange tempo

For the summer I wanted an orange/coral lip color but was having a hard time finding one I liked. I just couldn't find one that had good coverage and wouldn't crack after a few minutes. This one however is perfect! It goes great with navy/nautical-ish attire. On the website it looks way more orange but it is definitely more of a reddish-orange.

Lipstick Of The Week

See? There it is. This color was perfect in Florida. I wore it to my brothers graduation and on the beach. Love love love it.

These colors are reasonably priced at around $9. So go out and get your summer color on!
